ORIGA System Plus (OSP) Rodless Pneumatic Cylinder Sizing Application

Choice of cylinder is decided by:

  • Loads, forces, and moments generated by your moving mass on the rodless cylinder
  • Performance of pneumatic end cushions

In order to determine the cylinders that meet your needs, you must have the following:

  • Mass to be moved (in kilograms)
  • Radial distance from the center of the linear actuator to the center of gravity of your moving mass, as measured by r1, r2, and r3 in millimeters (see diagram at right)
  • Stroke length (in mm)
  • Time to make move (how many seconds it should take to complete one cycle)

Once you have this information, you are ready to use the ORIGA System Plus - Pneumatic (OSP-P)Sizing Application

  1. Enter your application data in each of the fields (all are required)
  2. Use the conversion table to translate English measurements into Metric, if necessary

The results page will display a list of all the qualifying OSP products for your application., as well as the Cushioning Diagram (which is a graphic representation of your cushioning needs).

When you submit your data, the Sizing Application software will determine which OSP-P products can support your criteria. Please select one of the listed products on the Results Page to see the specific loads, moments, and associated data for that particular product. Then please click the "Confirm Product Qualification via Engineer Review" link to send your data to our engineers. We will review and confirm that the cylinder you selected will meet your needs.
